Thinking of myself as a woman

Until five years ago, I wouldn't have described myself as a woman, but as a human or a person.
Growing up I was lucky enough that I never felt restricted by being a girl.  No matter what I wanted to do, I could.  The only thing that mattered were my preferences. I realise now how privileged I was.

My eyes have been opened to the various ways being a woman has impacted my life, and that of my peers and pre-decessors worldwide.  I am proud to call myself a feminist now.
